Good Times
Today my father and I went to this old farm place/museum (the rest of the family didn't want to go, uncultured swine). It was a beautiful day for it, and I enjoyed myself, despite the fact that it was a lot of walking. They had all manner of farm equipment and stuff from the 1800's, including this neat carousel that's the second oldest in the nation. We had lunch there, too, and with the sandwich came a pickle, and man, was it a pickle! I mean, you could tell that one of the ingredients used to make it was vinegar. Why can't most pickles be like that.

Anyway, when we were examining the room that was all about the print shop, I read some of the documents they had framed and put up on the wall for us to read. Presumably printed in that town (Newfield, BTW), they included a couple of issues of a local paper called "The Giant". As I was skimming it, I found this interesting little paragraph under the title for one of the earlier issues: "No more free samples. Subscribe now, or remain forever in the opaque abyss of nescience."

Now is that a quote or what? I mean, "opaque abyss"? That's something you don't see in today's papers, except maybe in editorials.

I forgot to mention yesterday that we went to see the third episode of Star Wars at a movie theater (exactly one day before this theater, the last theater in the general area to be showing the movie, would cancel it.) I liked it overall, certainly better than the first two. I can't even remember what happened in the second one. The acting was flat, of course, but I'm a sucker for special effects and lightsaber battles and things blowing up. And the CG was pretty and Yoda got to break stuff and lots of stuff blew up, so I was happy.

Oh, and it was Written that I had to do this. So blame the author, not the messenger, okay?

1) Reply with your name and I'll respond with something random about you.
2) I'll tell you what song/movie reminds me of you.
3) I'll pick a flavor of jello to wrestle with you in.
4) I'll say something that only makes sense to you and me.
5) I'll tell you my first memory of you.
6) I'll tell you what animal you remind me of.
7) I'll ask you something that I've always wondered about you.
8) If I do this for you, you must post this on your journal. You MUST. It is written.
